About Founder

Kathy is passionate about helping children and adults grow in their walk with the Lord. She founded My Child’s Heart Ministry to help parents become intentional in their child(ren) spiritual growth. This passion comes from a reality that Kathy faced in 1991 when she realized that she had a religion and not a relationship with God. You see, she became baptized at the age of 6. She confessed that she believed Jesus was Lord and Savior but not Lord over her life. She didn’t realize that God needed to become Lord over her life which meant understanding and obeying His commands.

At the age of 21, she realized that she had grown up not really understanding what it meant to be a Christian. She attended church almost every Sunday, prayed occasionally, gave occasionally but had never truly established a friendship with God. A close relationship with Him where she would talk to Him daily, trust in His Word, study His Word daily, obey His Word and believe that He could do the things He said in the Bible.

All of this changed in 1991 after a horrific car accident which lead her and others fighting for their lives. She realized at this moment that she was living a lie. She knew that she needed her God that she had put on a shelf for so many years. She knew that only He could provide her with the healing and strength to endure the next couple of years.
As she leaned on Him for healing and strength over these years, she became passionate about studying His Word and developed a desire to share His Word with others. She wanted everyone to feel the power of His Word just like she had.

Kathy is passionate about sharing the Word but she is even more passionate about helping and motivating people to study God’s Word for himself. She achieves this by teaching Precept Bible study classes and middle School Awana (Trek) at her church. She is also a 1st Grade Sunday School teacher and substitute teacher for a Christian Grade School.

She is excited to bring to you this website, her three books (Let’s Talk about Salvation, Jesus Our Savior and Friend, and Becoming an Intentional Godly Parent). She believes that these resources will bring parents and children together to study and discuss the Word of God.

Kathy, husband and two children are members of Grace Church St. Louis.
