Error Proof Investment

by Kathy Kirk

I am sure you are probably wondering what investment is error proof. The investment that I am referring to is your investment in eternal life. When you invest in God, the return is greater than any financial return. The great part about this investment is that the risk is extremely low; however, your return is based on what you put into it. So what do you need to do to guarantee a great return.

1. Accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior and repent from your old ways. “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” (1 John 1:9)

2. Pray and ask God for a desire to know Him better.

For I can do everything with the help of Christ who gives me the strength I need. (Philippians 4:13 NLT)

3. Study and meditate on His Word daily

I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. (John 5:15). Faith comes from listening to this message of good news – the good News about Jesus Christ. (Romans 10:17 NIV)

4. Develop a daily habit of reading the Bible and praying

The Whole Bible was given to use by inspiration from God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives; it straightens us out and helps us do what is right. It is God’s way of making us well prepared at every point, fully equipped to do good to everyone. (2Timothy 3:16-17LB)

5. Apply God’s word to your life daily.

Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like a man who looks at his face in a mirror and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like. But the man who looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues to do this, not forgetting what he has heard, but doing it–he will be blessed in what he does. James 1:22-25 NIV
